But Facebook is like the mahooosivest blog ever. Not only do you see what everyone else is doing, you naturally constantly update what you are doing. Exactly the function of a blog.

So I retract my earlier criticism of blogging. But add another side to it. I think that, in every human’s heart, there’s a little sheep. Let’s call it Doris. Doris, no matter what, will have a longing to belong. whether to be part of a group of outcasts or whether she wants to fit into society, there’s an element of her which will want to do what someone else has done/doing.

It’s like the difference between WordPress and Facebook. Doris sees WordPress as a lonely boring waste of time which no-one will care about. Because, there’s no proof 24/7 that someone else is doing what they’re doing. With Facebook, everyone’s constantly competing to tell the world more about themselves… like a global hyperblog. There’s a sense of belonging… everyone else spends just as much time as you seeing what other people are doing and maintaining their profile. A way for the big guys to keep an eye on us? an idle sport? probably. but its damn addictive. And people will eventually find out what you are saying….

even if it is through the mini-feed.

I spose thats why the impserver’s pretty sweet. Its beautiful to know that even in this lonelier side of blogging, there are still ears. Namely Joe. Thanks Joe.

To anyone who decides to read this. it’s a rant.

I haven’t used this blog in a while, but I think it’s time I used it constructively.

This one’s about the impserver. Some critical feedback for the future.

Our current project requires us to create social networking websites which rely on people physically visiting and using our websites before submission.

I’m trying to look at my own website right now. and guess what? I can’t see it. Why? Probably because the impblog’s being accessed, or a few fellow imps are trying to checkout their own projects.

Let it be known, however, I’m not blaming individuals as everyone’s been really helpful.

However, this is a rant about the time ratio during this project that I haven’t been able to work on my site, because the server’s connections need to be killed again.

“But what about the design view on dreamweaver?… use that instead you lazy git!” you might say. Unfortunately that’s a laughable concept. Checkout the attachment to this post below, and then, if the server lets you, look at my actual site: “http://impserver.bournemouth.ac.uk/~rmuhammad/index.php”. It’s funny how Dreamweaver works. or doesnt work.

I rely on the impserver.

I feel like I cant put my all in because I can’t see if what I’m doing is working, therefore it takes 20 times longer. Also, I can’t share my work or allow people to socially interact with it. On top of that, which I’m not sure of, apparently, you can’t even upload things from outside uni. So if this IS the case, Our brief should not have lifted our ambitions for this project.

And here I was all excited that my site may actually catch on in real life. Pah!

Maybe its too much to ask for… maybe an impserver in Second life would be able to handle more than 5 page refreshes.

Sorry to offend anyone, just speaking my mind. Hope it’s fixable.

I’ll try and get some more work done now.

2. Technology’s impact on Nature – I saw, while driving back to Bournemouth that motorways literally cut through natural landscapes. This is technology destroying nature. See for yourself. Both of these took surprisingly f*ing ages to make.

3. Nature’s Impact on Technology – How does Nature impact technology? It makes man want to compete against it. It makes man want to beat it with evolving technology. It’s a big race. But how will the race end? How far can technology go?

4. Emulation – Man has a part of him that is missing; the part of him that wants to be closer to nature. So, to do so without losing the ‘luxuries’ of technology, tries to emulate nature in the office. This shows the piece of man that is missing. Not so much emulation, as I’d hoped… I think I might still add a bit to make it more emulation-related. (Text Updated)

That’s the lot… I’ll probably change/edit a bit more if I have time.

Home’s the same, brought back my TV. It’s awesome.

Anyway… Just thought I’d get myself up to date before I try and get some sleep.
